Salon FAQs – Preparing for Your Appointment
What should I wear to my colour appointment?
For colour or bleach services, we kindly recommend the following:
• Avoid wearing brand-new, expensive, sentimental, or irreplaceable clothing. As careful as we are, and even with PPE and protective gowns, colour services do carry a small risk of product transferring onto clothing.
• We advise wearing older clothing that you’re not concerned about. This helps ensure complete peace of mind throughout your appointment.
• If you are worried about protecting your clothing, please let us know. You are welcome to remove your top privately and wear only the protective gown provided. This option greatly reduces any risk of colour coming into contact with your garments.
• Please avoid high-neck or hooded tops, as these can become damp at the basin and make it difficult to position the gown comfortably.
Why can clothing still get product on it even with a gown?
We always take every precaution, but due to the nature of colour work, small drips may occur during rinsing or moving between stations. Occasionally clients adjust their head while washing or may itch, their scalp, which can transfer colour accidentally. For this reason, we strongly advise wearing suitable clothing or choosing to remove your top under the gown for full protection.
Should I wash my hair before a colour appointment?
• Please arrive with clean, dry hair.
• Hair should be washed on the day or the night before, but no longer than 2 days prior.
• Avoid using hairspray, dry shampoo, root touch-up sprays, or heavy styling products before your appointment.
Should I wash my hair before a cutting appointment?
• Your hair doesn’t need to be freshly washed for a cut.
• Please avoid attending with hair that hasn’t been washed for over 5 days.
•We carry out a consultation before cutting and need to assess the hair and scalp clearly. For hygiene reasons, very dirty or product-heavy hair isn’t suitable for cutting services.
Should I wash my hair before a heated styling appointment?
• For styling services (blow-dry, curls, smoothing etc.), please wash your hair on the day or the night before. Clean hair allows heat styling to hold and look its best.
Cancellation Policy
Booking & Holding Fee: To secure your appointment, we require a 25% holding fee, which will be deducted from your final bill. The remainder of your payment will be due in the salon, which can be made by cash or card.
For appointments over 2 hours, we kindly ask for 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
For appointments under 2 hours, we request 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or changes.
Cancellations or reschedules made after the required notice period may result in a 100% charge of the booking fee
Late Policy
Please be considerate of your stylist and other guests by arriving on time for your appointment.
If you are more than 15 minutes late, we may need to reschedule, and a charge of 100% of the appointment cost may apply.
In cases where we’re unable to carry out the service within the remaining time, this may be treated as a no-show.
Right To Refuse Service
At Hair Masters Design, we are committed to providing a welcoming and professional environment for all our clients. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone displaying inappropriate or disrespectful behavior towards any member of our staff.

Head Lice Policy
At Hair Masters Design, we prioritize the health and safety of all our clients. For this reason, we are unable to perform services on clients with head lice.
If you are bringing your child in for a haircut, we kindly ask that you ensure they do not have head lice prior to their appointment.
If head lice is discovered during your appointment, our stylist will respectfully refuse to proceed with the service. Please note, you may still be charged for the appointment.
